club brugge kv claimed another danish scalp as goals from víctor vázquez, obbi oularé and boli bolingoli-mbombo, gave them a comfortable 3-0 uefa europa league victory over the danish champions.
starting with a 3-1 advantage from their first encounter at aalborg stadion, the home side confirmed their progress to the round of 16 with a relatively simple victory. vázquez struck in the 11th minute, and they extended their aggregate advantage in the second half with a fine strike from oularé, 19, and a tap-in from 20-year-old bolingoli-mbombo.
vázquez guided a deft finish with the outside of his foot past aalborg goalkeeper nicolai larsen after lior refaelov had turned a pass from bolingoli-mbombo towards the spanish midfielder. ruud vormer and oularé missed excellent close-range chances for the hosts, before the visitors – who named an all-danish stating xı – spurned their best chance of the game, andreas bruhn dwelling on the ball and allowing oscar duarte to put in a magnificent last-ditch challenge.
brugge then exerted their authority as, on 64 minutes, oularé latched onto a pass from vormer before outsprinting kenneth emil petersen and driving in a finish that the fingertips of larsen failed to keep out. bolingoli-mbombo scored brugge's final goal ten minutes later, as the belgian league leaders produced another incisive move. the congolese striker initially struck against his own player, but was left with a simple finish as the ball dropped to him kindly with larsen having already committed himself.
