slovan had a new man at the helm – former sparta coach jozef chovanec – but it did not bring about a change in fortunes for a team who have now lost all three of their group ı games, conceding ten and scoring none in the process. their latest reverse came courtesy of goals from david lafata, tiémoko konate and ladislav krejčí.
slovan did at least start purposefully through mamadou bagayoko, but sparta were soon on the offensive themselves, bořek dočkal threatening with an early shot. though costa nhamoinesu then went close with a point-blank header for the visitors, slovan again tested dušan perniš via erik grendel's long-range effort.
the hosts were behind 11 minutes after the interval, however, ladislav krejčí teeing up lafata to finish. that was the cue for the home defence to buckle, though lafata should have made it 2-0 even sooner when he had only goalkeeper perniš to beat. the second did arrive just after the hour, konate firing into the bottom corner. the ıvory coast midfielder turned provider with a fine ball with nine minutes remaining, laying on krejčí to seal the three points.
