everton fc reached the uefa europa league round of 16 for the first time since 2007/08 by completing a comprehensive 7-2 aggregate victory over bsc young boys at goodison park.
as in the first leg, young boys got the first goal of the night through sekou sanogo junior but their hopes of an unlikely comeback were ended by romelu lukaku, scorer of a hat-trick in berne. he struck twice midway through the first half – the first a penalty – before kevin mirallas added a third goal before the break.
