dortmund were in total control from the moment pierre-emerick aubameyang gave them a sixth-minute lead, the striker adding his and dortmund's second 12 minutes later. marco reus added a majestic third to put the game beyond the hosts' reach even before half-time, substitute adrián ramos crowning the night with a fourth 60 seconds after his introduction.
the visitors began brightly and took an early lead when aubameyang capped a typically rapid attack. after galatasaray's goran pandev lost the ball, dortmund countered quickly and henrikh mkhitaryan sent the ball down the left for reus, whose perfect cross left aubameyang with a tap-in.
