brøndby battle back but the second half was a more even affair, with brøndby's peter madsen forcing goalkeeper sebastien frey into fine saves with a low shot and then a header. then, right at the end, parma's junior was sent off for handling madsen's header on the line and crister nordin equalised from the spot.
hareide happy brøndby coach åge hareide said: "i'm fairly satisfied. we were competitive - although i hope to play a better match in two weeks' time. the problem tonight was obviously the early goal, but after that we looked good."
'that's football for you' passarella was not so satisfied. "i am disappointed because we had a lot of chances, but that's football for you," he said. "i'm not angry with my team, though. we were a little unbalanced before half-time and after the break we began to look a bit tired. but as for the result - well it leaves it wide open for both teams."
